Blog Entry 5 - P2 Final Submission Files (Tasty Bites, Snickerdoodle and Chocolate Chip)

      For my design, I wanted something that was inviting, warm, and caught your attention. I feel like it reflects the style that is trendy right now as well as my own personal style. For the logo, I used a font and then edited it to my liking, applied a offset stroke to get the outline around the forms. I took all the photos myself except for the chocolate and peanut butter cookie. I chose to do an all-natural soft baked cookie because things with good ingredients appeals to me and I would much rather have a soft cookie than a hard cookie.      Something I saw a lot on the boxes was a brief history of the company and I'm glad I added that, as it takes up some space but is also very informational about the heart behind the company. I wasn't sure what to add at the top of my box, so I decided to make my Tasty Bites logo into an icon and I'm really pleased with how it turned out. Blog Entry 1 - Civic Engagement Day Session Reflection (Yik Yak: Finding Positivity in a Herd of Negativity)

           I attended an 8 a.m. session talking about Yik Yak. Yik Yak is an app a lot like Twitter. On Yik Yak there is a timeline/feed where people can post whatever they like, except it's all anonymous. People can also like or dislike posts and the more likes the more the post is shown to other users. Yik Yak is location based and only connects users within a 5-mile radius. The app is highly used by college and high school students. The students presenting are trying to give ideas on how to change the culture of the app, which is highly toxic and negative.           I used to have Yik Yak when I was in high school, and back then it was also a place a negativity. People would name drop and spread rumors and hate that they wouldn't dare to say to your face.
